LAKE NEWELL
The largest man-made reservoir in southern Alberta, Lake Newell pumps out impressive northern pike thanks to its high productivity and shallow habitat. Soft-plastic, fluke-style lures rigged weedless are ideal early in the season. Then, as the water warms up and the pike drop slightly deeper, try casting jerkbaits, swimbaits and spoons.
